Four in a Row (also known as Connect 4) is a two-player strategy game. Players take turns dropping colored discs into a vertical 7-column, 6-row grid. The disc falls to the lowest available position in the chosen column. The first player to get four discs in a row — horizontally, vertically, or diagonally — wins.
Click or tap a column to drop your disc. Think ahead and try to set up multiple threats at once — if you can create two ways to win simultaneously, your opponent can only block one. Control the center column when possible, as it connects to the most potential winning lines.
Watch for your opponent's threats too. If they have three in a row with an open end, you need to block immediately. A common defensive mistake is focusing only on your own pieces while ignoring what your opponent is building.
In this free online version, you play against an AI opponent. The game alternates who goes first. Try to find a winning strategy — mathematically, the first player can always win with perfect play.
